Mushroom Toast
Thyme, garlic and butter are the ingredients that go well with mushrooms!
Serves: 2
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 300 grams white cup mushrooms, trimmed and thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1 piece garlic cloves, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper
- ⅛ tespoon vegetable stock cube, crushed
- 2 slices white bread or bread of your choice, for toasting
- fresh thyme for garnish, optional
Method
- Heat a wide frying pan over high heat and add butter, swirl the pan.
- When butter begins to sizzle, add garlic and thyme stir for 1 minute.
- Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring, until lightly browned, 5 to 8 minutes approximately.
- When the natural juice of mushrooms is released, add the crushed vegetable stock. Season well with pepper and salt if needed.
- Continue cooking for a minute more. Turn off the heat. Set aside and keep warm.
- Meanwhile, toast white bread slices until golden and a spread a butter.
- Spoon the mushrooms in toasted bread. Top with fresh thyme leaves for garnish if using.
- Serve warm!
