Garlic Fried Rice (Sinangag)
Sinangag is a Filipino fried rice dish cooked by stir-frying pre-cooked rice with garlic.
Isaiah 12:4-5
And in that day you will say:
“Praise the Lord, call upon His name;
Declare His deeds among the peoples,
Make mention that His name is exalted.
Sing to the Lord,
For He has done excellent things;
This is known in all the earth.
Serves: 2
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 to 3 large garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 cups cooked basmati rice, cold and day old if possible
- salt to taste
To Serve
- crispy fried garlic
- spring onion, thinly slice
Method
- In a cold frying pan add the oil and the garlic and cook in a medium-high heat until light brown.
- Add the pre-cooked rice and gently breaking down the large clumps with a wooden spoon.
- Stir-fry the rice for 8 to 10 minutes in medium-high heat or until the rice became a bit dry or light crispy.
- Season with salt.
- Serve warm.
