Sizzling Beef Steak with Gravy and Mixed Vegetables

This sizzling steak is perfect for autumn season. Enjoy this Filipino style sizzle steak with gravy, vegetables and steamed rice while still hot.

Equipment: Sizzler plates




Ingredients


For beef:

  • 300 grams rump steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

For gravy:

  • 2 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce or Maggi Original Seasoning
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons plain flour
  • 3 cups salt reduced beef stock
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

For veggies:

  • 1 cup frozen mixed veggies
  • water
  • 1 tablespoon butter




To Serve: steamed rice






Method

  1. For beef: Slice the beef into thin slices. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a pan, heat the oil. Pan fry the beef for at least 2 to 3 minutes over medium high. Set aside and keep warm.
  3. For gravy: In the same pan, melt butter then saute garlic over medium heat.
  4. Add the flour, stir constantly for a minute.
  5. Add beef stock, soy sauce or Maggi Original Seasoning and simmer for 3 minutes or until the sauce becomes thick. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Turn off the heat. Set aside and keep warm.






For the mixed veggies:

Place the frozen veggies in microwaveable container with enough
water and microwave for at least 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the water and put some butter and mix well. Set aside and keep warm.




Assembling in sizzling plates:

  1. Transfer the pre cooked beef in the prepared hot sizzling plate in the stove for at least 1 to 2 minutes or until light brown then pour the gravy sauce on top. Turn off the heat.
  2. Add the steamed rice and mixed veggies.

Note: spray a cooking oil in the prepared sizzling plate.
