Beef Salpicao

A quick and easy beef salpicao is a Spanish influenced dish on Filipino cuisine. A beef cooked in Worcestershire sauce, garlic and butter!



Serves: 2








Ingredients
  • 350 grams Australian beef rump steak, strips
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 to 4 large cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tin, 400 grams whole champignon mushrooms, drained
  • ⅛ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoons butter
  • crispy garlic (optional)







To Serve
  • garlic fried rice or steamed rice
  • crispy fried garlic
  • spring onion, sliced 







Method
  1. Slice the beef rump steak into strips around 2 cm length. Set aside.
  2. Crush the garlic using mortar and pestle. Set aside.
  3. Season beef strips with salt, pepper, and garlic then set it aside for 5 minutes.
  4. In a frying pan, heat the oil in a medium-high.
  5. Sear the beef until brown. Do not over crowd the pan.
  6. Add the mushrooms, worcestershire sauce and butter. Mix it well to coat the beef pieces evenly.
  7. Sprinkle a crispy fried garlic, if you like.
  8. Serve warm!
