Pico De Gallo


Pico de Gallo is a type of salsa commonly used in Mexican cuisine. The salsa must be made fresh, like a salad. This a low-calorie dish that adds a great flavor boost!




Serves: 2







Ingredients 


  • 2 medium size tomato, deseeded and diced 
  • 2 tablespoons diced red onion
  • 1 tablespoon jarred sliced jalapeño, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsely, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt or to taste 
  • freshly ground pepper to taste




To Serve:

  • tacos
  • quesadillas
  • burittos
  • enchiladas
  • quesadillas
  • nachos
  • on top of grilled beef, pork, chicken or fish
  • plain tortilla chips




Method 

  1. In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeno pepper and chopped parsely. Mix well.
  2. Stir in lemon juice.
  3. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Serve immediately!
