Slow Cooker Osso Buco Nilaga

Osso Buco or Shin-Bone In is a quality choice of beef that works best in slow cooked meals for cold winter nights. It means 'hollowed bone' which refers to the marrow-filled shin bone.
The osso buco nilaga is a Filipino beef soup that is simply healthy and comforting!

  • spicy fish sauce
  • steamed rice



Method

  1. Place the pieces of osso buco osso buco, onion, celery, potatoes, blended peppercorns, prepared beef stock pot and water in the slow cooker. Slow cook in high for 5 hours.
  2. After 2 hours (approx.) of slow cooking, remove the impurities on the surface of the soup. Close the lid and continue cooking.
  3. After 4 hours of slow cooking. Remove the fats in the surface of the soup using fat separator as much as you could.
  4. Season with fish sauce, then add cabbage. Close the lid and continue cooking for 1 hour.
  5. Serve hot with steamed rice!
