Pan-Fried Pork Chops

One of the simplest ways to cook pork chop is pan-frying.

Serves: 2

Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Australian pork chop, 500 grams
  • iodised salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

Method

  1. Let the pork chops out of the fridge for at least 30 minutes, before cooking so they come to near room temperature.
  2. Season the pork chops with iodised salt on both sides.
  3. Heat extra virgin olive oil in the large frying pan over medium-high heat, swirl the pan to coat.
  4. Place the pork chops in the pan and fry for 5-7 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness. Cook until golden brown all over. (Note: For an even golden brown color, turn the meat frequently with tongs.)
  5. Take the pan off the heat.
  6. Transfer the pork chops on a plate and let it rest for a final 2 minutes before serving.

Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
