Mackerel Dip

A simple fish dip that you can make in a minutes. This recipe is a healthy snack and entrée.
The Atlantic mackerel is a good source of protein and omega 3. This oily fish is one of the healthiest seafood options available.



Serves: 2



Ingredients 

  • 1 tinned (115 grams) King Oscar Skinless Atlantic Mackerel Fillet in Olive Oil, drained
  • 3 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish cream
  • 1 tablespoon onion, finely chopped 
  • 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon
  • iodised salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste



To Serve

  • Spring onion, finely chopped
  • toast, fresh crusty bread or crackers



Method

  1. Drain the tinned skinless mackerel fillet.
  2. In a small bowl, combine skinless mackerel fillet, sour cream, mayonnaise, horseradish cream, onion, freshly squeezed lemon together. 
  3. Mix until well combined to make textured dip. 
  4. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. 
  5. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
