Cardamom Loaf!

The freshly baked cardamon loaf smell was really irresistible! Cardamom said to be the third most expensive spice. It has a strong, unique taste, with an intensely aromatic, resinous fragrance.

My recipe is originally came from the book "Australia The Beautiful Cookbook" written by Joy Hayes and Julie Gorrick. I baked it in a baking loaf pan.

Cardamom Loaf

Ingredients:

11/2 cups self rising flour, sifted
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cardamom
Dash salt
1/4 cup caster sugar
60 grams (2 oz) butter, melted
1 egg beaten
1/3 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Method:
  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C or 400°F.
  2. Combine flour, cardamom, salt and sugar.
  3. Mix together butter, egg, milk and vanilla and quickly stir into the flour. Don't over mix
  4. Place baking loaf pan and greased it.
  5. Bake it in preheated hot oven (200 °C or 400 °F)  for 27 minutes or until cooked when tested  with a skewer.
  6. Serve warm or cold, sliced and buttered.

Enjoy!
